By saying the pullets' comb's don't turn red until they are close to laying, are you saying their combs will be other colors until then? MIne have grey-ish combs and one has a light coral or pink comb.
Depends on the skin color of the bird. White skinned breed pullets will have pale pink/white combs. Yellow skinned breed pullets will have yellow combs.
 
thank you. can you tell us how long can we keep the two males together in the same coop/run with out them fighting? they are already pecking me when i go in there lol!

I have posted previous photos of my 10 week old lavender orpingtons and blue orpington. I am sure that the blue orpington is a cockeral. I am very curious about one of my lavender orpingtons. I originally thought it was a pullet but she has changed a good bit in the last couple of weeks. Pullet or roo?
