Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

My two RIR chicks I got today. Was told they are females but I have an inkling that the bigger one is a roo. Do not have history on them but they appear to be different ages.

My Australorp girls had me concerned when their wattles started flushing at 6 weeks old. Don't worry. It's just something that happens when they get excited or stressed.

In this pic, you can see just how red my Jersey Giant's would get. She's a very dependable layer now, but a terrible mom.
You are certainly ahead of me. I don't even see wattles!

Approximately two weeks difference in age between those chicks. The little one looks to be about 2 to 3 weeks old, the larger one looks to be about 5 weeks. Both are much too young to guess gender.

Could someone please let me know what breed, age and sex this chicken is. I traded my (2) roosters for this chicken. I'm a little confused because I feel like I have been given a Roo but I have been told the older ones look like this one and are laying eggs. Also, can anyone explain to me the horn this bird has growing in its beak? Also this bird has really pale legs.....Is this the bread or is this bird ill? Thank you, I appreciate any input!

Shaking :)

Don't know about the beak but I'm pretty sure you have a hen there. :)

It doesn't have pointed saddle fethers...just bad lavender genetic.

Ty for the impute.

Looks just like one of my lavender orps - who I never doubted was a hen. Same issue with poor feather genetics, but she feathered the same rate as the others. Had a big fluffy tail from the start, sweet and non-aggressive. And out of nowhere, started crowing today.

This is my rescue baby. I think she's a pullet but I'm not positive. She's my only silkie and against my will, I am smitten. I know I should be looking at her crest for shape and it seems round to me but I'm not sure. I also know I should look for streamers but I'm not sure when I would see them. I tried taking pics of the back of the head. You can see there are some short, thicker feather quills growing in, mostly on the top and back but a few in the front too. I'm not sure if it's just new feather growth or if they could be streamers? "She" is around 4 months. No comb yet either but not sure when that usually starts to develop either!

That's an Austra White. Looks like a female, but need better pics showing the feathering on the back better to be sure. The lump could be scar tissue from an injury.
