Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

I have two new chicks this spring they are bantams but we don't know the breed (if you know or have an idea please tell me) I'm certain the tan one is a roo but second opinions help. The one I'm baffled on is the white one she/he has a large comb but no waddles, feathered very quickly, and has always had very big tail feathers. They at both 4 weeks old (give or take a couple days) the tan one is a bit smaller but very dominant, the white one always follows him and he stands up very straight

Here's the questionable one

But here's the questionable one

Those are not bantams. Those are about the same size as most adult bantams. You've got a Buff Orpington cockerel and a White Rock cockerel.

The Brahma is male, the comb is too pink and some darker shading is developing on the shoulder area. The gold sexlink is female coloring, males are solid white at that age. The black sexlink is male, females are solid black with a bit of gold. The Sebright is male. Need to see the chest feathers on the Welsummer.

Here's one for you

I've had 4 bantams already and I still have 2 sebrights and they are much larger than these guys. And at the feed store they had the "assorted bantams" separated from the standard size, but is it possible that these are bantam sizes of the breeds you mentioned. I have heard of a bantam buff orph. But I'm not familiar with white rocks

Very pretty but ya feed stores usually don't sell true Amer for $3.50 most of the time there EE

They had black copper marans at the time for $9.40. They get a good variety of species (ducks, turkeys, guineas, etc.) and breeds but I'm not sure what hatchery they use. The price varies by breed as well. The 'Ameraucanas' weren't overly expensive so yes probably EE. But as far as feed stores go I think they are generally pretty good at getting their breeds correct. Plus I can find their breed schedule online so that's exciting for me.

My gold laced Cochin / light Brahma mix looks a lot like your buff Brahma. Thanks for posting that photo. I was wondering what she was going to look like.
