It looks like a pullet... small pale comb, and very even pattern across the wings, no red splotches. If this stays true for the next couple of weeks, I think you can count on a pullet. Here are a couple of more recent pics. 5 weeks EE

I sure hope so!!!! Thanks!!!It looks like a pullet... small pale comb, and very even pattern across the wings, no red splotches. If this stays true for the next couple of weeks, I think you can count on a pullet.
4 wks is young to sex, and the camera flash distorts the color of the combs, so very difficult to tell. Leaning toward cockerel for #1, but not sure and not sure on the others. Updates pics in a week and maybe we can tell. Here's photos of my gender mysteries. I'm not sure of the breeds, but
I ordered from Murray McMurray. My order included cuckoo maran, black star, whiting true blue and "rare exotic" ancona and red star)
hatched april17, so 4 weeks old

I would not bet the farm on it, but I am pretty sure. At 9 wks, males are usually bright red in the comb and have prominent wattles (unless it's an EE type that does not get wattles). Also, red males get darker patches of red on the upper part of the wings. I never say I am SURE, because there have been cases of late bloomers, where they did not show signs until later... but usually by 9 weeks you can be fairly certain. I would keep this bird if I were you!You sure?? Because i am expecting a pullet
Yes, looks like another pullet. Watch for the same signs as the other. They can still change a lot at 5 weeks, but looking very much like a pullet so far.Because of the coloring I am leaning towards pullet as well? 5 week EE
I know! That was the main reason I got a couple of them in my flock. Colorful egg basket!!!!Yes, looks like another pullet. Watch for the same signs as the other. They can still change a lot at 5 weeks, but looking very much like a pullet so far.
I love EEs. Hope you get pretty blue or green eggs!
They tend to be very healthy birds too. I have a 5 yr old that still lays 2-3 times a week.I know! That was the main reason I got a couple of them in my flock. Colorful egg basket!!!!
