Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

Yes, she's the only one showing pink. She's been pink for the last week. Feathers look pullet to me the pink is throwing me off though.

That's a tough one. Mostly looks like a female. Was it hot out? Sometimes a pullet's comb can get flushed. I suppose it could be a late bloomer, but 8-9 weeks is pretty late.

Do you have others to compare it to? Compare the comb color when they're under the same temp conditions. Also compare the thickness of the shanks & how they stand.

Thanks for reply guys. I have trouble with telling for sure on leghorns when young cuz their small build with bigger Combs and tail throw me off. Plus this is only one I own so no one else to compare her to

Purchased a Easter Egger so I was told. Five weeks approx. new chick mom not quite sure if a hen or roo? Help appreciated!

Well, the comb looks a little thick/wide, but that's the only warning sign of a roo that I can see. The other features look like a female so far. Try posting again in another week or 2 & see if you get the same answers.

I named this one Penelope so I hope she's a she.

Hi there! I have 7 Buff Orpington chicks that are all 6 days old. I was wondering if there is a way to know the gender by their wings. I wasn't to sure if it was a myth or not... :p I have one chick who's wings are longer then the rest of the chick, does that mean she is the only girl?

Thanks,
~Meg
