Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

I have 2 female Ameracaunas that have a comb like that. Could be a hen.

But you have to take into consideration, the rooster red on the wing/shoulder areas. That particular shade of red is male specific.

It definitely can be but my female also has similar coloring. I think it's more breed specific. That's just what I've learned from my small mixed flock though. I could be wrong.

Look past the color on the light red on head and neck to the coloring on the shoulder and wing. That's the shade of red I'm talking about. It's male specific. Some people around here like to call it 'red patches of death'.

I posted 2 weeks ago and got a maybe, try again in a few weeks answer so here it goes!

This is my 8wk jersey giant

And this is My 8 wk old Who I was told was a "red" crossed with black copper Maran Who was pointed out as a rooster before... I was also told that there was no way that he/she could be a black copper Maran crossed with a red ... so if anybody sees any breed indications I'd love to hear them !!!

Thanks guys!!! You're the best!
I think the second bird might be a cockerel. Comb seems largish and red in the last pic, but it's not clear. Do you have a better pic showing the comb?

Would you please help sort our boys from our girls? We have 3 Black Copper Marans, 2 Splash Ameraucanas, 1 Blue Ameraucana, and 2 Golden Laced Bantam Wyandottes.

We are thinking that the BCM 3 is female, as her comb and wattle are much smaller and less red than those of the BCM 1 and BCM 2. Also, we were told that the two GLBWs are both female. The Ameraucanas we have no idea about.

Thank you!
