Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

8-week-old speckled sussex. The one on the right in the top picture has already been deemed a rooster on here. But now he's starting to act rooster-y with the one on the left, as they jump up at each other like they want to throw down. So I'm guessing both are roosters. But I've never had a rooster, so maybe they're just playing.

We thought this was a hen, but now we're second guessing ourselves. I'm hoping it's a hen, but I think its probably a rooster. 14 weeks old

I have 2 blue andalucians that are about 12 wheeks old in this pictures, one of them developed the comb and waddles a lot faster thatn the other .

Both pullets. Andalusians can be fast to mature. The Blue is an even, uniform shade without the dark patches of a male. And the back feathers are very round and girly. No trace of male saddle feathers coming in.

The behavior is dominance related, not gender related. You have one cockerel, and one pullet.

Hello,

We acquired two black Australorp chicks on April 15th. They are sweet birds and have meshed well with our two 5 year old buff Orpington hens. They are 14 weeks old today and one of them has a deeper voice and has made a suspiciously "crowing" like sound twice now. We are not allowed to have roosters where we live. Would anyone mind offering a guess on the gender of one or both of these? Thank you!
