Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

I have a couple members of my flock that I'm not sure about gender. They're all about 9-10 weeks old. I tried to get good pics of their heads and tails but they sure don't like to sit still!

Americauna (Donatello) she's been beefing up on some of the other chickens and fluffing her neck feathers up at them which I've heard is rooster behavior but she looks like a pullet to me!

Cuckoo Maran (Ziggy)

And my RIR (Rafael)

Your Ameraucana is actually an Easter Egger, and the Rhode Island Red is actually a Production Red. All are female. The behaviour you describe is dominance and pecking order related and has nothing to do with gender.

I'm completely clueless on what my Lavender Ameraucanas are. I have 5 left after discovering that my stupid cat was picking them off, and I'm afraid they might all be boys! Any thoughts or do I need to keep waiting? They're 13 weeks now.

I'm having a hard time telling from just their comb color because I swear they change from red to light pink and back again on a daily basis!

Here's Tangerine:

From Left to Right: Tangerine and Floppy

Even more Floppy ('cuz s/he's my baby!). In this pic, the comb looks lighter:

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

There do seem to be a lot of males but..... Ameraucanas have a pea comb. Look at the comb, three rows of peas vertically is a boy, one row is a girl when they are young. My Ameraucana pullets are smaller, thinner legs, they have a feminine look. They are all very pretty!

All cockerels. They all have way too much comb for their age. And Ameraucana are not, generally, a fast to mature breed.
