. Looks like a rooster. But sometimes it is according to the breed. Some breeds like white leghorns have hens with tall, red combs.

the first two look like hens and the others look like roosters. Read my reply below and you will see that comb size and color is not a good way to judge some breeds of chickens.

Thanks. I thought s(he) was a RIR, labeled that way at the store, but starting to suspect it's a different breed. No idea what though. Feeling a little heartbroken.

actually number 4 looks like a barred rock. The hens have tall combs to. So it may be a hen. Lets hope so

if hens are what you want. They are cute. What breed is the first one?

Looks like a little serama pullet to me.

Thank you, that would explain the three funny ways it walks around, especially when it has its tail straight up
