The only one I'd be at all unsure about is the red in the 4th & 5th photos. The stance looks feminine, it just has a good bit of comb. If the comb grows bigger and brighter over the next week or two, I'd suspect cockerel.

Thank you! That's the one I'm questioning too! Glad the rest are hens.

My chicks are 4.5 weeks old. Do you have any ideas on gender? There is 5 of them - one is bigger than the rest by over 50%

I think i should give them more vitamins or something, i dont want them to have any problems

I wouldn't worry too much. Some feather in more slowly... a lot of people think that means it's a male. I'm not sure about that. Always keep an eye out for mites, just in case!

I'd just be guessing on chicks so young. If you post update pics in a couple weeks, we might be able to tell. The larger one is probably a different breed.

I'll try again with my light brahma. First off he/she is giant. I think she's about 12 to 15 weeks old. What do you think? Been going back and forth with her. She flushes easily. Her wattles have gotten a little bigger but nothing like my other cockerels but those are different breed

If the red ones are red sexlinks, then they are all female. The barred rocks are female.

Hey guys,
I'm new to BYC, and really any forum, so please tell me if I'm supposed to make my own post or if I can add my questions to this post

I have a starter flock for my backyard, and I'm curious as to whether or not I've ended up with all hens or how many roosters I may have.... I purchased a few from feed stores and the other half from a breeder a couple hours away. She didn't offer sexed chicks, just what-you-see-is-what-you-get.

The whole group is 3-4 weeks old now, except one this first one...
(Please pardon the poo, the whole room gets stripped daily and fresh bedding applied; just hadn't done it before the photos)

Araucana (at least sold as such; likely EE instead). She acts henny to me. Let's the others cuddle under her chest/wing. Mid picture here, the dark rustic one.

I have (1) Sicilian Buttercup - supposedly sexed prior to arrival at feed store as a pullet. Think she is a pullet. Also seen above. I think she likes the camera! Here's a side shot of her:

Then I have a blue and a white Silkie. The blue has a little cotton puff on top of her/his head... are some Silkies prone to wild "fro" hair, like a polish? Blue is back left:

In the above picture you can see my two Gold space wyandotte Bantams... they're so tiny, but they are definitely 3 weeks old! Doubt I can sex them yet...
Front left is one of my standard- sized Silver Lace Wyandottes...

Above is the white Silkie

And behind the Sicilian. Itterxup is my grey Polish (supposed to be a candy corn Polish? Not sure if they come in that blue/grey color). Here's another shot of him:

Pretty sure the Polish is a Roo, as he and this other Silver Lace Wyandotte chest-bump and scrap with each other a bit

My other Silver Lace doesn't have the white cheeks or as much white wing feathers. Which confuses me a bit because I thought pullets grew their wing feathers before cockerels typically do... and they're the same age.

The one I suspect is a roo is on the heater, while the other is below it.
