Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

I’ve got some six week old Marans and Ameraucana chicks that I still haven’t been able to figure out. I know Ameraucanas take a while to mature but there is one that is soooo much prettier than the rest that I’m really hoping it’s a girl...is this comb suspicious to anyone?

so far, no obvious signs of being a cockerel. In a few weeks you will know for certain...
Good luck!

First time posting but I've been on here for nearly 2 years reading advice etc. We have 4 rescue isa browns from the battery farm, 1 Australorp given to us from a family home and then these two new additions which we have been keeping separate of course. Black one is maybe 11/12 weeks now. Brown is 9 weeks.

Pullets ?? I have no idea how to tell... can you help me? I don't even know what breed they are! They were rescued from a "petting farm" before they got killed off. (They had been pecked and had open sores and wounds, all recovered now though!!) Living the good life in the Hunter Valley wine region of Australia.

Many thanks for your help!
Hello and welcome to BYC!
Good on you for rescuing them. They are both Wyandottes, the black and white one colour is called silver laced, and the other one is called blue laced red. I believe they are both boys, however Wyandottes are known to be tricky to sex so I could be wrong, their gender will become clearer in a few weeks :)

I think 5 may be a pullet...Her coloring, feather shape and demeanor are different from the first 4. All 7 that I have, have big combs and wattles that are barely pink to red. The last 2 I didn’t post, look and act just like #5.
You didn't provide a profile shot of 5 but I'm pretty sure I see a few darker blue feathers in the wing bow. And those combs are massive for 4.5 weeks.
