Not sure what’s going on !! Help needed please

Ive never had a chick hatch with that incubator. Inconsistant temps and crazy humidity even with no water added (I had another thermometer/hydrometer placed inside). Eggs made it to day 7-9 and quit. Invest in a good incubator and you will have a much better experience. Sorry

I’m 100% going to get a more reliable bator it’s such a brick to the chest when seeing them get so far then losing them so quick , very dissapointing , thank you for ur input

Yes its very sad. I use a Brinsea and its given me 100% hatch rate with my own eggs but only holds 7. I bought shipped eggs. Had 14, so i thought using that crappy incubator to hold the extras would work and knowing i would only get about 25% to hatch i would move the viable eggs into my good Brinsea when the time came. What a mistake. Lesson learned. I will buy a better extra incubator next season.

Yes, well like I mentioned I borrowed it off a friend , and hers were a fail also , her didn’t even develop , mine have got to day 19 so I’m doing something right , just not a realisable bator , I no for next time now tho so thank you again

I recently bought the only incubator in town. I'm not kidding. I'd been asking for months and months if they'd even ORDER an incubator in for me and was told "no-can-do". I 'discovered' that they had incubators in stock recently, while I was in buying feed and THERE IT WAS, the object of my DESIRE! It's a Farm Innovator's Model 4250. I bought it without even looking at reviews online as I'd been begging for ANY incubator for so long, and figured "It's gotta be better than a light bulb, right?" So I get it home and start reading the reviews about it online and was saddened to see that most called it "fakey, at best", so I must have the only Model 4250 that works, but I'm exceedingly happy with mine, and it was less than $200, including the cost of buying quail rails for the automatic turner. I've had it one month and I'm in the process of my second quail hatch. Long story short, despite bad reviews online, I would highly recommend this incubator.

Hi there! I saw that incubator on amazon when I was researching them. Unfortunately the problem with that incubator is that it does not have an auto-turner for the eggs (although it claims it does in some of the for sale ads online).

Eggs need to be turned a minimum of 3+ times a day to prevent the embryo from sticking to the sides (among other things) or the embryo won't survive. They can be turned by laying on their side and gently rolled from side to side throughout the day. Or, they can be turned by having them with the pointy side down (you want the fat side to be up as that's where the air cell is) and titled at a 45 degree angle (doesn't seem possible in the incubator you're using).

Have you been turning the eggs? I didn't see a way to turn the eggs in that incubator unless the eggs were laid flat and turned manually throughout the day (unfortunately you didn't stand a chance unless you're turning the eggs yourself!!).

Yes I’d been turning them oftern, I was even getting up maybe 2/3 am in the morning to turn them also , since only having the 2 left I’ve laid them onto the side see if that helps (fingers crossed) I don’t want to tamper with the eggs since I can’t smell anything foul as of yet so I’m just going to be patient and wait it out until lockdown , thank you all for ur input it’s been very helpful , and I will keep all you updated on the big day

Well another update quicker than anticipated , had a nosey through the window ( bator) and noticed egg had discoloured but still no smell , there was no life at all in there so came to the conclusion he/she has died , so I cracked open the egg and I was right , I’ve taken a photo to show you guys as maybe you could give me an explanation as to the cause of death , very sad :(
