Hello. I just noticed two of my chicks about 2 months old are not using their feet. I noticed them laying for a few days and didn't notice an issue until tonight. They can walk but use the hocks and have a wobbly gait. I've raised a few chicks before that I purchased from feed stores and have never seen anything like this. They are being fed Texas Naturals crumble and occasional chick grit. They are alert, eating, and drinking well. Could they have curly toe paralysis? I'm lost as to what I should do. Read I can supplement with b2 vitamins? Or make shoes? Greatly appreciate any information and advise!

Not sure what is going on. Are the crumbles for chicks?

Anyway, your asking about b vitamins. If they were mine, I would try it I don't think it would hurt. If I am not mistaken if it is a vitamin deficiency, you will see start to see improvement fairly soon. If not that would at least help you rule it out and start looking at other causes.

Here is a link about walking on hocks. @Eggcessive gives good advice and what vitamins would work. You may want to pm her to ask about your chicks, she is very knowledgeable.

Good luck. Keep us updated.

Checked on one this morning and her feet like perfectly fine?!?! I'm confused....happy! But confused. The black one still isn't walking much, however.

UPDATE::: Marine is doing just fine!!! She's walking normally and toes are very much improved. Fed her Nutrional Yeast and super Vitamin B tablets. She improved within a week.

Thank you! She was better the next night. The black one had me more worried but they're both doing great!
