Not sure whats going on here.. possible eye worms?

Has anything changed for him in the last few days? Weather? Type of bedding? Anything?
Nothing has changed other than it's gotten drastically colder but not too crazy. But in CA we have pretty mild weather compared to other places. But the cold did come on suddenly.

MG can cause bubbles and inflammed conjunctiva (pinkeye.) You could try to get some testing with a swab to his tracheal secretions. Your vet or state vet might be of help, and there is a national lab called Zoologix that will do pcr testing for multiple respiratory diseases, but they are more expensive.
I'm calling the vet in the morning. But can they randomly get these illnesses without any change? And do you know how fast MG comes on? Like if it has an incubation period

Also, did you ask the person you purchased him from about this? I believe I'd send them these pictures and ask if they noticed this, did anything to treat, or if any other birds have experienced the same.
I havent asked her since it's pretty late and I planned on calling the vet in the morning. When I purchased him his eyes seemed a little off but nothing too red flaggy. I know none of my birds other than him are experiencing this as of right now but I'm on high alert now and will be checking everyone out. Hes been seperated with 2 hens the whole time I've had him and he hasnt been around any other birds

You can get some Bausch and Lomb saline eye wash at many drug stores and Walmart for about $4. Terramycin eye ointment from feed stores, or some plain Neosporin ointment is fine to use in the eyes. If other symptoms occur, it might be good to get an oral antibiotic, such as Tylosin, doxycycline or others.

Can I get those without a vet? I have looked into antibiotics but everything says not available where I live. I will get the saline tomorrow thank you

Where do you live? You can get tylosin, doxycycline, enrofloxacin, and others from a pigeon supplier such as Jedds.com, Foys, allivet and others. Denagard is available online and is specific for MG.

California. I didnt know that. I have been blessed the couple years I've had chickens and havent had issues like this till now. I'm going to look into that right now thank you

Not every eye infection is caused by a respiratory virus. I've dealt with my share of minor eye and sinus infections in my flock, and never had any develop into a full blown respiratory infection, usually virus caused.

I've found that Neosporin works every bit as well on eye infections as the more costly Terramycin, and it may not be available in California due to the draconian restriction of all antibiotics for livestock and pets. You can make your own saline solution. Recipes are on the internet. Use distilled water for the safest solution and only pure salt, not iodized.

That makes me feel a little better. I've never had a chicken illness like this ever. But google makes it seem like everything that causes anything close to this is a death sentence or MG or some other horrible forever super contagious illness that can only be managed. I will look up making a saline solution. I have some saline that came in a spray can with my daughters nose frida... can I use that? I've never seen terramycin in any feed store but I do have plenty of neosporin. Thank you
