Not to lie but like, ducks mating is the scariest thing I've encountered rasing ducks.

This morning, Iet my ducks out and my male muscovy began attacking his mate bitting her head which I've been told indicates the stsrt of mating. Then, he mounted her and all thr ducks began biting the female muscovy who's mating. I had to block them from biting her by creatinf a barrier. BUT what's the most scsry was when they finished, my male muscovy droped to the ground huffing like he was dead but in the end, we stood up wagging his tail. is that nornal? :ya:frow:barnie

We used to host the kindergarten's class ducks on weekends and holidays. It was just one pair -- Daniel and Cindy. Happily, no one to assist in ganging up on her.

I must say that when Daniel had his way with Cindy it was dramatic enough that there was no way my 5yo daughter didn't take notice but it wasn't what you're describing.

They were in the pool swimming and managing to turn it a bright emerald green. But Daniel, nevertheless, managed to mount Cindy with a great deal of gravity defying wing flapping, water splashing and squawking his brains out. Can't remember any breathless flopping but he sorta had to keep swimming so the opportunity for theatrics might have been cut down severely.

It was a great experience and I loved having those ducks. My garden and my pool, not so much... But they were so heartwarming I've kept that memory for 30 years.

My pair started mating every morning a couple weeks ago, and it's been ... surprisingly tame? The hen always initiates by stretching her neck straight out in the pool & clucking, and like, maybe the drake will notice and come actually do something about it. :lau

Doubtful, but fingers crossed my drake will keep being gentlemanly about it come actual breeding season.
