what do you keep track of during incubation sets.
I made a spread sheet for my current set, it includes times turned ( I'm hand turning), when I needed to add water, humidity at turning times, candling times.
Is there anything else you have found to be helpfull?

Here us a picture of mine- pretty much the same as yours! I think they help me keep trak- big time!

A lot less then you lol, I have the name of the hen on one side of the egg and the date they were put in the incubator on the other side. Maybe I don't keep enpugh info, but it's not like me to take good notes. How far along are yours?

With wes. Date egg was put in the incubator is put on one side of egg in black. Due date on opposite side in red. I turn them once in the morning, once around 3-4pm and again before bed. If I'm not sure if I turned them I just turn them. While turning I check temperature and humidity and add water if needed. Hens turn eggs what, 20+ times a day. Incubator works great and temps should recover within minutes.

Not really sure if egg turning, temp and humidity is really vital. When I was twelve I was wondering.... we had a4'x4' brooder sitting in the basement so I put 8 eggs in there. Didn't turn them aside from when I went down and picked them up to look at them. One day after what seemed like forever... they take FOREVER to hatch. I was hanging rabbit pelts up and could hear chirping... One of the eggs was pipped. I went to 'help' the baby out... it lived for about 10 minutes. The rest I left alone and six of the remaining eggs hatched. I killed one... and one dud.

Think we tend to overcomplicate things. If it keeps us occupied and satiates our OCD so go wild with it. If one is keeping track of breeding stock... gosh that's an OCD dream. Little leg bands with numbers and genetic lineages going back a decade. Imagine if someone had turned Bob Saget onto chickens

MIne are on 9th day. I I didn't keep track like I do, I'd forget when I did things and do them over again. Or for get entirely. I am at the stage in life where I forget from one minute to the next.

Chicken eggs from a freind of ours. Just bought some quail and wated to learn how to incubate eggs. freind gave us 2 doz fertile eggs. so far it looks like 22 are going to hatch. dropped one and broke it the first day.
Not sure what we will do with chicks when they hatch though. Maybe lots of noodle soup.
