do you think twins are genetic in chickens as they are in people?
 
They will not be identical twins though - just fraternal. Two yolks = two different chicken genetics. They would only be identical if a single yolk split.

Update: I took my eggs off of the turner because one of them is beginning to rock quite a bit. And I thought I heard peeping.

(You guys should see the third incubator I'm working on... constructed it out of plexi-glass windows so that we could all see inside without having to open it up. It's large enough that my hovabator turner fits in it too.)

My life is so complicated lately all this chicken excitement is a nice diversion. I homeschool and Rebecca's video was wonderful life science. I hope you can film yours, too. Can't wait to see the plexi 'bator.

i was going to have nine bron on sunday but five came early. i have a hen setting on them. and how can i tell if they are boys or if they are girls:jumpy:jumpy
 
stretch their wing out and look at the two rows of quills where the feather grow out of. If the quills are straight and the same length roo if they are uneven like long on short on and so on pullet
