November 16th Hatch Day - 5 hatched - DONE

Me too, Rebecca. And thank you.

OK, here is the link to YouTube of me opening up the twin egg.

Update: 2 eggs have hatched! 1 is zipping still (the darkest brown). A brown egg is peeping and rocking, which was previously not doing much. The green egg and one other brown egg are pretty quiet.

The brown egg with a green tone ended up being white shelled inside. So I think the tiny undertone of green was just a whoopsie. It hatched out this guy:

And the little pink/lavender egg, even if it was laid by a Buff Orpington, I don't think that's what the chick is...

Almost all black, except for a few little yellow fluffies on his neck.

Anyone care to hazard a guess as to breed?

Update: Number 4 (brown egg) has pipped! Darkest brown egg is making progress with its zipping. Other two are drying off and chirping/pecking.

RickiHupp, that's OK. Sounds like you've got your hands full as it is!

UPDATE: Darkest egg has hatched! 4th egg is still just pipped, but I noticed the last brown egg starting to twitch! Still nothing from the green.

At first I thought he was black too, but the more I looked at him, the more I realized he is more dark dark brown. Unlike tiny chirpy with black feet and beak, this guy has pink feet and pinkish brown beak. And upon inspecting the photos, I see some dark yellow feathering.

Update: Number 4 hatched! Number 5 is zipping, which leaves the lonely little green egg as of yet doing nothing. Will post pics a little later. Just got back from the med center a little while ago. I have to watch my appendix tonight.

Update #2:
Number 5 hatched!! This one looks exactly like my three Rhode Island Whites... but it could be a different white chicken? Brown egg and all yellow chick with pink beak/feet. Green egg is still quiet.

FINAL HATCH UPDATE:

We have 5 healthy (except the one who got burned on the eye from the incubator heat element...) chicks.

This is a quick snapshot.

This is the poor little fellah that bapped his eye on the heat element after climbing up on one of the sponges... She's been named "Black Pearl" (or "Blackbeard" if it's a roo).

And I'm still exhausted so time for me to go back off to bed. Night all, thanks for following the hatch!

"Black Pearl" seems unaffected by the heating element injury on day 2. He's been tracking me tonight with the eye that had been shut yesterday and it seems to be perfectly fine. I believe he lucked out and just irritated the tissue below his eyelid.

So, that's good news!
