Congratulations!

I almost feel like I cheated to get my 100% hatch rate this time. 1 egg was set. 1 egg developed. 1 egg hatched.

Hey congrats on the babies ALL!!!

I endend up with 50 something bob's. Haven't got an official count, but I'm sure at least 50. A couple of them seem to have brain problems, they lay on their sides and kick their legs. ???? dunno, and another one's feet don't seem to work. I'll more than likely be culling them, don't want that in my breeding program, but an ok hatch for shipped eggs I think. I put a fan in my bator and set 13 White Rocks, and 15 bantam cornish. Hope the fan improves the hatching, not sure about this one, the eggs had to wait a couple days the get in the bator, 'till the bob's were done.

Let's see some more PIC's!

I'm expecting a hatch by tomorrow night of Copper Blue French Marans! Can't wait to see the little cuties. This is my first hatch without a brood hen doin the work so hoping for the best. Turned bator on at 8 in the morning so does that effect the timing I can expect to see pips? 11 blcm and 1 black star from my coop.

'bout 12 hours to 18 hours between the three of them.

I'd give them a little more time to get up and stop wobbling before you cull. My chicks are usually off their feet for a day or two. It's not something wrong with their brains. It's more that they have to learn what feet are for. Some take longer than others, too.

Asylum wrote "I also went in after another millie that had pipped and went past the 24 hour mark..it had died in the shell..it had a large part of the yolk sack not absorbed yet so it was obviously to weak to hatch..plus it looked like a small roo too so no big loss there.."im after hen's"." I hate to sound totally stupid but how could you tell if it were a Roo? I had that feeling about the DT chick. It was HUGE and had a pronounced rise on it head already. I have learned so much from reading all the posts, thank you all. I am interested in your project once you mentioned toes. My roo is a polish with the funky extra toe and two of the chicks have it while one does not. One that has it is a Bantam. The regular sized chick appears to possibly have the head fluff starting but not the extra toe. i am interested in the genetics involved and can't wait to see which traits the chicks end up with. I also have 15 in the bator due the 28th.

From what I can see this morning it looks like everybody is ok, but there are soooo many of them, its hard to tell.
