I had a bunch of eggs quit too....developed until the last few days! I hate it too but just think...next spring you probably don't have to buy eggs just hatch your own.
you didn't kill them...in the nest they lay on their sides and mama hen rolls them around! just the gamble with shipping

hopefully since usps issues full refunds up to 50.00, the carriers will start respecting the contents.

oooh well I dont know really.... but I thought from pictures that the male blue wheatens are actually blue, and the female blue wheatens appear light tan/white (just like a wheaten) BUT they have a little black in their tail feathers only.
the male wheatens are black, so I thought maybe the chicks were black, and the female wheatens would be tan/white? I am making ALL of this up, just from looking at pictures of adults lol so feel free to ignore me!

lol sorry I know you didn't tell me but I trust your judgement over mine any day
my eggs were $40.. maybe I need to start making sure they are worth at least $50 heh..

it's hard to tell about her position but she sure was a lot of chick for the shell? glad she's out and looks wonderful....love to see pics as she grows

just checked on her and she was glued to the towel in the bator omg.. she couldnt move. I had to dab her with water to get her unstuck. I took her back out, her wing was also folded and glued weird. poor baby. I should have tried to get more of the membrane off her. I got her unstuck and she is flinging herself around the incubator now

Max was out and about getting his picture taken many times, as usual. He isn't letting his fame change him, much. But he did insist on riding in the back and calling me Jeeves.

Yesterday I fell asleep on the couch. When I woke up I found an egg under my butt. For a moment I thought "I have been spending way too much time with my chcickens." Then I remembered my dog had let one of my hens in the day before while I was gone. She laid an egg on my couch. Crazy chickens.

edit: she is climbing over the other eggs... if they get rotated will it matter? I had them with the aircell dip up. but they have been jostled a bit by our girl here

It's so hard watching them fall over and not opening to help. She is so cute.

I was worried about Max not getting enough vitamins since he rarely eats his turkey crumble. Since he started stealing my gummie vitamins, I am not so worried. Now I just give him one every morning. They are the kid kind, so small dose.
