November/December "Hatch-a-Long"

Never seen a mottled ameraucana, where did you find those? Bet they would be pretty
I got my eggs from Joseph Woodiel in Missouri. I found him on the ameraucana breeders directory. If you google image search you can find pictures. I tried to get eggs from about half a dozen other breeders with no luck. Then later found out they got their stock from Joe anyways lol

Mine are salmon faverolles from a breeder that has cloverleaf and merlin lines so they're going to be gorgeous! what color showgirls do you have? I bet you're gonna get some cute little silkies in the hatch too. Silkies and showgirls are super broodies, so I'm sure you'll have no lack of broodies in your future

Oh my!! Those sounds lovely! Gosh, one day I want some of those. <3

If I remember correctly, the breeder had 2 blue silkie cocks over black, blue, and splash showgirl hens. And she mention there was one white frizzled silkie hen in the group. So, we shall see!
Hopefully this tropical storm, Karen, that is in the gulf will be nice to me and not be too naughty. :|

Ok, so one Cayuga is out and dry. Still no progress on the one that pipped first but he is still moving and chirping so I am still sitting on my hands, waiting.

Well, the baby was twisting and chirping because another baby hatched. I hat to completely hatch her. Her yoke was completely absorbed! I'm so thankful! She is in the incubator resting and chirping

This is nothing wait till the little buggers start to pip and your checking on them every half hour or more to make sure you get to see them hatch ! Coolest thing ever!

I have to agree, when you see the first egg of your first hatch wiggle about.....you're a gonner! I lost count of how many times I went to just watch them those last couple of days. I got no sleep hahahaha

For the first timers, here is a vid of my son and I with our very first zip-hatch. As you can tell....we are just a tad excited!
I still laugh at my reaction.

Two week later we were incubating our next lot in a bigger DIY incubator hahahaha

Oh goodness gracious! I just squealed with happiness!

I am incubating eggs for the first time and looking for a hatch-a-long to follow! Is it too late to join this? :p

I am have 13 showgirl eggs and setting them in the incubators at 9pm tonight (7 into the Brinsea Advance and 6 into the Styrofoam incubator)!

Where did you order the showgirls from? :) I adore them and am trying to get established with them to begin breeding them myself. 4 in the styro-bator due Saturday!
Also, welcome! My first try was shipped eggs and was a resounding flop (0%) but I did start with seramas which are notoriously hard to hatch. I hope you have a great hatch! :fl
