I got hens that were not healthy like the seller said. So I got on a FB page that we're both a part of to ask advice about making them healthy. I never mentioned her name, which I could have, but she kept sending me messages that I was making her look bad and what a horrible person I was. She reported me to the group admin, and reported one of my pictures (of a chicken) to FB for being offensive! Some people just can't handle criticism.

Oh my... what an ordeal. But no they really can't. And they're so hung up on themselves that forget that the phrase "the customer is always right" means you rectify or at least TRY to rectify the wrong to satisfy and acknowledge that person. Reminds me of my horrible incident with my "lavender silkie" local purchase. How dare we question them! What nut jobs!

she got obviously upset because she said she "disagreed" with what I said about packing....I gave her a line by line of how they should be packed lol
by the time I finished that email she had left me another message that she was going to file a claim with usps... which is helpful...I was already disappointed that she shipped them on Friday...duh!!

during some of our communications she had told me she was out of work...so I didn't want to leave negative feed back since this is income for her...I wrote that the packing could be improved but she was helpful in the comments but clicked positive!
NOOOO! YOU need to file for insurance - YOU are out money! She will get reimbursed - paid twice - and then you will have to fight hre for a refund or worse yet she will insist on sending another terribly packed batch of eggs when she gets around to it and drag it out past the 40 day window.

she's not pursuing the insurance because I "criticized" her...she said if I have such high standards I should notify sellers before I buy from them!
I guess I could but I'm just setting the eggs that weren't broken and hoping I get a few...
it does amaze me though how upset someone could get over her packing and not concern herself with what my loss is! it's apparent that she's not got a lot of experience with packing them! oh well:old
No this is good, YOU need to file. Its easy - file online at usps.com, put live animals in the category, attach your pics of packing and broken eggs, give them the receipt to show them what you paid before and after shipping. You will get reimbursed up to $50 for the eggs and the whole cost of shipping. You will get a check in the mail and be able to buy more eggs from someone more trustworthy.

I just filed the claim...pretty easy...just uploaded the pictures that I posted here! and that's it....hope I do get a refund

did any of your hatch at all?

I know this wasn't directed at me, but chances are probably slim they'll hatch :( I had the PO destroy an egg shipment on me, and it wasn't even the packaging. I'd gotten eggs from this person before and they were perfect. Honestly it looked like someone had on purpose banged the package around trying to break the eggs, and mostly succeeded. The box was covered in egg yolk and so were the surviving eggs and I had to wipe them down. In the end the survivors were just too scrambled and damaged to hatch.
