Oh no!! Yum, that would have been awesome![]()
I got out of the shower and found orange liquid on the floor. I couldn't think of what it could be or how it got there. After a few minutes pretending to be a CSI, I figured it out.
My dog let in my chicken. My chicken went into the kitchen and tried to land on a shelf that was full. She knocked over a gallon jar of Limoncello I was making. (Except I was making it Manderine orange this time.) There is barely any left. That is $30 of alcohol. $25 of Manderine oranges and hours zesting them. Months letting it sit. I am so frustrated. I think she is looking for a good place for a nest because 'I think' she might be wanting to go broody. It's the only reason I can think of that she is on such a hunt for the perfect nest. If she found a good spot in the house, I'd let her with the weather getting colder. It's Cinnamon of course. She just laid her 3rd egg and it is pretty good sized. I love that pain in the butt.
Max and I are off to the bakery outlet and to get Chinese food for dinner. Max was all excited to go, then I detoured to write this real quick. Now he is sitting patiently by my feet. I have got the craziest bunch of animals. Maybe my personality has rubbed off on them a bit because I don't know anyone else that has chickens that insist on laying in the house and a turkey that has to sleep in a bed after eating ice cream for desert and drinks out of a straw. Or is this more normal than I thought?
I'm so glad to know thatAs an update to the previous hatch from 2 weeks ago, if anyone remembers I had a little marans mix that seemed to be unable to poop and I was afraid it wouldn't make it. Happy to report she is still doing fine and seems to have straightened out her issues. Her belly is no longer hard and she is eating and growing now. Yay!!
not normal ...but love and attention like yours doesnt come along every day . I always found it fascinating how if the boss cat died, cat number 2 would always develop much more personality, then I realised its the increase in focus.they really do thrive on attention![]()

she won't leave the nest for at least 3 days and if she knows there are others pipped and chirping she may stay! don't knowI now have 3/10 silkies and another trying to hatch. It's been 24 hours so I hope I get a few more before she abandons ship. I forget how cute their tinyness is. I fall in love all over again every time.
