November/December "Hatch-a-Long"

My newly laying Brahma sat on her eggs for a day and a half but last night she went to sleep with the other chickens. She went back to the nest when she got up. Anyone know how long it takes for them to figure it out? I going to leave theeggs under her and switch them out if she stays on the nest for 5 days.
they get off and on the nest until they gather their clutch...about a week...then they sit regular
how is our little Max?

All the ones due at the end of the week are still alive and kicking. Well, all of them are still good, other than those that weren't fertile to begin with.

Somanyhats I'm so sorry
Chickydee I may have to fire up a 3rd incubator I've gone nuts again...all my eggs haven't arrived yet...I bought some Tolbunt & Cuckoo (Candy Corn crested) polish also!!

I was holding 4 chicks on my lap and I noticed that they are sneezing sometimes. This was away from the brooder where no shavings are around creating dust, prob 75 degrees in my house. Should I be worried? I didn't see any discharge, but I felt a small spray on my hand when one of them sneezed...

I'm sitting on pins and needles. At 8 I roll into day 22 of my hatch and there is nothing. No movement. No pipping. I'm afraid my thermometer broke after day 18 and I cooked the babies. On day 18 they looked great. Good development, and plenty of movement from 6 of the 7 that made it to lockdown.

if you don't have vetrx use vix....make sure there is air flow in the brooder....a splash of apple cider vinegar in their water
