I have also got power outage problems. Day 18 for my 4 Bantam leghorns and the power has already been out for 5 hours!!! So disappointed, I cant even do anything cause I'm at work.

I have five chicks hatched so far: two cream Legbar (a male and a female) that are really dark compared to my first batch! And, three Rhodebars (I think a male and two females). I'm still waiting on the Marans - one now has a pip, a second had movement for sure last I checked (Thanksgiving afternoon), and the last one I'm still not sure of - maybe it'll surprise me!

My husband named the CL male Nugget. My two year old named the CL female That One. My Five year old named the Rhodebar male Rooster. I'm referring to the female Rhodebars as the Golden Girls, but one that is really flighty I'm thinking of naming Scramble, her buddy may become Omelet. My oldest daughter suggested Mary and Laura (from Little House), so we'll see.

I hope it's back on and the chicks surprise you. They make some heat if their own at this late stage, so they have a bit of resiliency. Let us know how it goes!

. The only two babies out of eight to hatch. This was the first time hatching eggs from my own flock. I'll be trying again soon. One is a blue Cochin/rir cross, and the other is a blue Cochin/ red sexlink cross. I'm just happy at least two hatched.

I hope everything turned out okay for you. My kids unplugged my bator on one of my hatches and it was several hours I think before I noticed. I only lost 2 out of 12 from the incident so there's always hope!

Good job! It seems to take a bit of practice.

Thank you! We hatched just one of the three Marans. It looks like a roo and was named Biscuit. The one that I couldn't see movement the last few days had died in the shell, and the other was malpositioned and didn't make it.

Six out of 20 shipped eggs. Not a bad rate, anyway - better than my first shipped hatch which was 4 out of 24. I'll have to improve upon those numbers!
