Just candled my eggs, they're at day 13 and most of them look pretty good! It looks like 20 out of 24 are going to make it to the lockdown! 2 look infertile and 2 look like they quit around day 5. What's the best way to dispose of the bad eggs? (We don't have WM so just throwing them away means they'll be rotting in the back of the truck for a couple weeks)
I live in the country so we just run out to the woods and chunk them as far as we can but if I couldn't do that I believe I'd put them in a big ziplock or a couple plastic grocery bags till trash day.Just candled my eggs, they're at day 13 and most of them look pretty good! Can you tell if they stink before you crack them?? Sorry, I've never had a rotten egg...my husband came across one and it exploded on him. Some even got in his eye, it was swollen for nearly a week. Since then, I candle every 4 days or so. Once I'm sure they're clear or I get a blood ring then out they go.I crack mine in a bowl, unless they stink... I bury those.
Honestly, I've never had one either. I've heard the really bad ones will stink from inside the shell and you can smell it, or they'll weep and stinky egg will seep out of the shell. Can you tell if they stink before you crack them??
