This was my first new egg turner motor on order digital thermaste as well

I would just sit there and talk to the egg through the incubator window.  LOL  Even funnier though is I caught DH doing it a couple of times, too.  He'll never admit it, but he loves the chicks as much as I do.  

HAHAHA I have to show this to my bf! He caught me talking to them and just shook his head saying "Only you!"
I knew I couldn't be the only one!

Hehe we all do and I make my cehszlovakian wolf dog sit next to me when they hatching to get use to them from the start... I talk to them all and when they out for the first time my dog thinks it's his job to look after them and even chase away the Hawks!,,, we all crazy haha

Tomorrow is day 18 so I went into lockdown tonight (I work a long shift tomorrow). 8 Light Sussex and 1 D'uccle. Saw lots of movement on candle - can hardly wait. The D'uccle may go early, who knows.

Now to go sit on my hands

The broody hens talk to the eggs before they hatch, so it only makes sense that the human mommies should do the same.  I swear the chicks knew my voice when they hatched.  These chicks are by far the most people oriented babies we've had.  If you put your arm in the brooder you'll have a whole bunch of chicks perched on your sleeve.  Very friendly and they are only 2 weeks old.

That is so cool! I hope mine are the same way. Last time I had chickens was about a decade ago. Between low hatch rate and predators, I ended up with only one chicken...a spoiled rotten roo. I always wondered if he would have been such a mommy's boy if he had more of his kind around. (I wouldn't call him people friendly, tho. He didn't like male humans at all.)
I still haven't found employment in the almost 2 weeks since I have moved here, so for now I should have plenty of time to be with them to make them people friendly.

My broodies day 14 today...candling

I should go candle... I have not done that in 10 days... 10 days ago they were bubbley... the bubble was moving around and they all were like that. Any ideas?
