love that chicken genetic calculator .it is not complete .
I use the Autossomal new verssion ,has more genes .like comb .leg colour etc.......
help a lot when trying to figure out the future pairing .

chooks man

I thought about moving to a more complex calculator but I am too new to breeding to handle it. Eventually one day when I learn how to control patterns/Colors better I can step up to a higher grade.

simple verssion does help a lot body pattern ,when working on with a same strain of chooks .

observing the chicks hatch down .take photos of them @ different stages of they growth will help a lot in understanding genetic , taking note too .

Waaaaaaaah, I got nothing. All 15 eggs in the incubator were clear. :-\

There were three that I KNOW were fertilized, I cracked ones before and after I collected those, bullseye on both. When I cracked them to check today they eggs were so warm and the yolk soft so I couldn't locate the bullseye. I wonder if they were too old. I've had in and out separation times for the flock because of hawks, so I wonder if my timing of collecting and separating just wasn't right. Everyones going back out together the last couple of days, so I am going to collect again and go from there now that everyone spends their days together again.

Ive got a welsummer who spends days and nights with the Delaware cockerel even when they are separated out, so I'm putting some of her eggs in today to see if they develop.

Ugh my heart would drop! Hope today's show promise soon!!

I am starting my collection for the 2nd November hatch today. Red Leghorns, Barred Leghorn Project, Naked Necks, Dominiques, and RI White x Red Ranger... Tomorrow I hope to also have Seramas and Red Bird Dark Egg Projects too.
Nice, yeah, im gettin a bunch of silkie eggs, and some orpington project eggs in the first week of November! I want some Lav Orp eggs, but idk if my chicken budget can afford them.

Curiosity killin' me...

You fellas with the multiple hatches in November and people hatching 4, 6, 8 breeds right now...how many birds in total do you have on site right now?
I’m probably going to fall into staggered hatches so I’ll answer.

I’ve got 75. 35 are going to be processed in December and are 6 weeks old. 35-40 adult birds.
