Too big to sleep under her wings, they now just form a line. The heat lamp was added about 10 days ago when the temps really dropped into the 20's at night and they quit sleeping in their box. They are becoming "big" chickens and want to roost at night and have taken over the empty brooder box top. Coming up on 8 weeks old and momma hen still keeps track of everybody. They have been raised free range and part of the larger flock from week one. Started out with 16, lost one along the way. 15 chicks (6 roos & 9 hens). I really like how some are speckled like their mother hen and some appear to be black.
