now 1 wk old chicks

The chicks I hatched last week are now 1 wk old. they are jap bantams.

I thought it would be interesting to take this picture.

Large egg is from one of my big girls either a black star, rhode island red, or barred rock.
compared to a 1 wk old bantam chick and a bantam egg which they came from.

this one is posing.... like I came from that?

What I find amazing about bantams is when you crack one open the yolk is nearly as big as a large store bought. The eggs look small but my bantam leghorns lay a nice sized egg.

The eggs taste so good. I prefer the bantam eggs for over easy... thats the way I like mine cooked and i can eat 5-6 of those at one time.
