always changing
When I picked her up, some clear fluid dropped form her beak. her chest feels kinda soft and squishy. She laid that rubber thing I had to pull out, she still drank and ate egg shells, but is still just standing in her box. I think she does not feel well.

The soft and squishy is her crop. When you picked her up, chances are she just threw up a little, maybe you pushed against her crop when you picked her up? Let her rest and keep her warm.

I had the same exact thing happen.

I picked up the pullet after she'd been drinking a lot (didn't even squeeze her just picked her up) and a clear goopy mess came out of her mouth. She was fine no problems later.

I'm hoping that maybe Cotton is going to be ok after all. This morning when I got up, after letting her stay in the house all night, she was still standing, but when I took her box out to barn and opened the lid, she stretched her neck up, looking like she wanted to jump out. So I left lid open like I usually do before I go to work. When I got home this afternoon she was running around yard like she usually does and now she just went to bed. Her crop is hard now, so maybe she is just full right now. Thank you to everyone who responded, I was so scared, she is the chicken I rescued from the storm/dog first week of January. And I really want her to make it. It took her nearly a month to recover from that attack, and the past few weeks she's been fine, until last night, when the rubber egg came out and she was lethargic. So keep your fingers crossed she continues to improve. Thanks!!
