Get pro active and educate them. If you are selling eggs, a candler to eliminate any with meat spots might not be a bad idea. Sadly enough some people just don't/won't get it. Don't tell them that many "meat spot" eggs get turned into pastries.

If it were me, it's not that they were complaining about blood in the eggs that bothered me but the fact that they are telling people not to buy from you! That, to me, is un-Christian. You do not slander people that way. It's one thing to not want your eggs, it's another to tell people lies about them.

Wow...pretty mean-spirited if you ask me. I mean I get that when you buy store bought eggs it, as someone before me said, prevents nature from happening, but good grief, blood spots can happen in either fertile or nonfertile eggs. My cousin-in-law turned up her nose at some eggs I gave her that had double yolks. She said they looked gross and she wouldn't eat them... I said fine...more for me.

It's just sad that they have to badmouth your eggs to others. Not cool.

Wow, that's ridiculous. I'd be upset too!

A fertilized egg that hasn't been incubated is pretty much just like any other cell. It has the potential to turn into a chick/bird, but unless it has been incubated, it is exactly the same as eating a cooked chicken, or even a tomato. It's just one, big cell, with a nucleus and all the other cell parts.

Sounds like the people at your church are not very nice people, especially if they are turning away customers behind your back. It's not so much ignorance that makes me mad, but the fact that they didn't even come to you and ask about it.

God forbid they find out they've been eating GMOs their entire life! (Cause ya know...everything we've bred has been genetically modified through artificial selection!

I have had folks say that about my eggs. I say, go ahead and eat your antibiotic laden super market eggs and don't complain to me ( a nurse) when you get sick and nothing helps you. It's just ignorance, pure and simple. And as for candling, my eggs are too darned dark to see through and of that I am very proud. If you can't pick a blood spot out of your egg, you don't deserve my precious eggs. Don't get me started...............................HenZ

*cradles her eggs to her chest* It is bad enough they complained but they threw the egg away! I almost cried when I dropped an egg this morning!
The girls work hard to lay those eggs!

We eat our eggs everyday for breakfast. If I get one that is to bloody we just give it to the dog.
I collect everyday but with the florida heat sometimes it happens.
