Now THAT is what I call dedication. LOL

Almost as bad as baby kittens.. Weeks of bottle feeding and stimulating them to go poo.. Because you have to.. Else they get impacted.. They were youuuuuuuuuung.

WOW... that is amazing! You ARE dedicated!!! Poor baby chick, must have been sooo uncomfortable before you came to save the day!!! I am sure that one will be special to you, because you really did rescue it!

And what a clever method! Huge congrats too on your new brood of chicks. =P

It is funny what we do for our chicks. I lost my speck. sussix (sp?) about 4 months ago, so idea why. I asked the guy in the feed store and I guess she had an egg stuck. Then about a month ago my buff started getting the same thing going on. I said to my husband I will be darn if I am going to loose another one. I took her in gave her a warm bath to soak. and yes I stuck my finger up her butt until I found that darn egg. I had to do it of an on for 3 days, we got the eggs out, and now she is fine! She lays good again and nothing stuck.

That was nasty, I almost got sick doing it! lol but I still have her at least she is such a sweet heart and I would do it again if it meant saving her.

I even have put baby chicks in my bra and slept with them, went shopping too with them in there. At least until they had a buddy at least. I don't have the heart to listen to them cry every time I put them down. lol My 4 yr old son thinks that is gross because of the poo in my bra. hehe He is so grossed out w/poo I asked him once to pick some off the floor w/a napkin because I was doing something, he started gagging like he was going to get sick. lol Gotta love him though!

Pansy is either a mottled Japanese or OEG bantam rooster. I am only sure of the bantam and rooster, he crowed this morning at 5 1/2 weeks.
