I switched out the eggs and now she is back to her broody self, her sister keeps coming to her nest and checking on her(she doesn't mind it).I gave her 1 light sussex egg,3 barred rock eggs, and 2 austrolope eggs.My hen is a bantam, do I have too many eggs under her?
She is covering the all the eggs.
Also, should I lock her up in the coop, my other hen doesn't lay there and doesn't sleep there is this okay?

I wouldn't lock her in the coop in case she wants to come outside to get some fresh air. But keep food and water right outside the nest box so she can access it easily. If it is not easy to get at, she may not eat or drink enough. And as long as nobody is bothering her, I would just let her be just as is.

As long as she is covering all the eggs well enough, then it is probably not too many eggs.

Good luck with your broody and her hatch!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Good luck with the hatch! TwoCrows's advice X2

Sounds like your broody is doing fine, if she can cover all the eggs - great. Let her hatch this bunch.

Sometimes two hens will raise a batch of chicks and take turns keeping them warm while the other takes a potty break. Or another hen can get jealous and try to steal eggs or chicks, so just keep an eye on the sister.
