Hey everyone,

I’m currently in the process of obtaining my NPIP certification; my birds have already been tested and are healthy 😊

I’m looking for recommendations/resources for shipping hatching eggs, and maybe next year I’ll do chicks. I’d like to keep just to eggs for now and really master that before sending any babies out. Do you prefer the foam pre-cut rectangles, bubble wrap, etc? And for live chicks which heat packs do you use?

I’m obviously very new, but I’m passionate about my little flock and want to ensure the best health and safety for them and for great results for customers.

Thank you!

Yes! Holly this was a thread I made about shipping eggs - I still think it’s the best way. I actually think that using the pillow filling in the box is key - I had a batch of eggs shipped recently without the pipe insulators, in a carton, but with the pillow fluff all around, and had a GREAT hatch rate for shipped eggs. (18/20 started developing, 15/20 hatched out).

Okay that’s right! I couldn’t remember who talked about the pipe insulators!
