I know every NPIP program is run through the department of agriculture, but I was hoping some Michigan residents could tell me their experiences. How long did it take? What was the approximate cost? How easy and/or difficult is the process? Do you have any advise for someone getting it done to their flock for the first time?

How old should my flock be before I get them NPIP tested? I am starting from hatching eggs, so I assume they'll have to be a few months old before they can be tested.

Ok..Stacykins...no one on that thread seemed to know...so I looked it up. According to Poultry help.com.....the Michigan person to contact is : [email protected] .
Also...Destiny farm in Michigan will do it for you...and their charge is: $85.00 to show up at your place and $1.50 per bird. I suspect that may be high.
Hope this helps...I would email the Mi. contact person.

Thank you so much for the info, and for asking on that thread. I figured when I initially asked it was probably not noticed, or nobody who saw it knew.
