NPIP Participants & Breeders List

good point!
Kind of what I was getting at.
None of these states seem to bother you on hatching eggs or chicks, UNTIL, you put
NIPI # ..... on your boxes. Before I knew of the program, I shipped to all of them over the years and never had any trouble, since becoming a member and putting my # on all the packages along with the forms, I am constantly getting these nasty state letters telling me I am illegally shipping into their states.
Most say along the lines, that, why you are a NPIP member, we need certification from your state agency that you ARE p-t clean and or AI clean, well run the blame number!
It will show everything I am tested for ...... seems the more you try to comply with their rules, them more rules they throw at you, making simple trade of bird so difficult.

I am fully for the NPIP program, keeping these diseases at bay is great for all, it's the individual states with their, douple permits, thats all they are, a permit to show you have a permit?? That kill me, so freaking rediculous!
If they want to do some good, start stopping the ones WITHOUT npip certification, they are ones running disease risks in their states, but from personal experinces, they let them go right on threw??? Go figure!

AK NPIP #1
The list of breeds is in my signature, though it changes from time to time.
We're dropping the Delawares to make room for more Orpingtons, RIRs and Barred Rocks. Seems people are content with the more familiar breeds up here. We also have small pens of silkies (blue roo over black, white and splash hens) and a pair of Mille Fleur d'Uccles.

NPIP 48-487

Add Maryland to the list that wants you to have a state permit. All it is is a piece of paperwork that some person wrote up that wanted to keep their job at the Departement of Agriculture in their state. They realized they did not have work to do so they went on their computer, made up a form and wrote out that everyone has to send in paperwork to them every year in order to ship chickens into their state.

Ok so thats how I feel about that. lol. Crazy government. Those that govern least govern best.

Yep, it gets kind of frustrating, they send you the letter, then you have to send the completed form to you NPIP office, then they have to send it back to that state, then that state sends it back okayed to you. Bunch of stamps!!
takes about 3 months from the day they notice it.
MN, contacted me back from a May shippment, took them over a month and a half to get it to me, still havent gotten the permit back from them???

got a state list from my NPIP Office this week with full listings for each state for those interested.
In addition to NPIP these all require State Import Permits, some also require more than just Pullorum/Typhoid testing, like A.I. or the various Macroplasma diseases

Georgia
Illinois
Iowa
Kansas
Maryland
Minnesota
Missouri
Montana
Nebraska
Oklahoma
South Dakota
Texas

These require also a vet certificate of health in addition to NPIP forms and or State permits
Conneticut

Michigan
Illinois
Nevada
New Hampshire
New Jersey
Tennesse

They still aren't good at there jobs I still haven't got my NPIP papers after 3 months! I certainly haven't had any problems with people shipping to me without the state permit. If you ask me its a load of hogwash anyway my tester said she has never seen a posative Avian influenza test and has only seen a posative typhoid once after years of testing.

Mine said the same thing.
And I too have shipped to all these states and never had a problem(yours included), TIL, I started putting the NPIP # on the boxes, for some reason it seems like a red flag to them then??go figure, you try to do right, then have trouble.... Most likely, you as the buyer would never know if they sent the letters out , as the seller is the one who has to have the paper work for each state. I've never informed any of the buyers, that I got letters on them, I just go on and do the paper work then TO PASSIFY THEM

Took me about 2 years to get my certification.

Yeah, I was beginning to wonder...

Three rounds of testing before the paperwork made its way to the right people. Plus we were the first in the state, so we were "guinea pigs" for the program. Too soon to know whether it was worth it or not, but we'll see.

It's all good.
