What does this designation actually mean? Why is it needed? I saw these on some ebay auctions and didn;t know what it meant.

NPIP= national poultry improvement plan, the other same only texas for first word mabe? not sure on that one.
it is inspected flocks that are tested by the state and proven to be disease free. if u don't pass the tests or inspections u don't become npip certified. if the flock is npip u get paper work for the eggs or birds u buy/sell stateing they r disease free or from a clean flock. it is one form of paper work required by law u need to be able to ship in or out to other states or other countries.
there is a little more to it but that is the gist of it.
