As far as the home testing kit goes that is not allowed for NPIP cert. The testing must be done by a state vet or a state certified tester. The earliest age they can be tested is 4 months old Some states such as Ok and Co. have cert. classes that you can attend to become cert. testers but you would have to call the Dept. of Agriculture and talk to someone in the animal health dept. to find that out.

Just to clarify, NPIP is the program, not the disease.

I re-emailed Julie.

She told me it was four months for breeders.

But on the very first testing, everything has to be four weeks so they can say that the disease is 100% not there.

Our cockerels are only 10 weeks old and they tested them. Is that odd?
