NR 360 Lockdown - Humidity not going over 57

Its day 19 of lockdown and the entire day yesterday I left the incubator at 57 because I read someone else had a great hatch rate with that lockdown. I’ve read more about it and want to get my humidity to 60-65. I filled both water pots with warm water and opened the vent halfway and I still can’t get the humidity higher. Should I add wet paper towels? How many/ how wet should they be?

Yes I would add a wet paper towel or sponge to increase it. Surface area of water will increase humidity. Also I would open your vent fully once you add it, oxygen is vital at this stage.

you can use a sponge that helped me get mine from 55 in lock down to 60%RH to 65%RH and it stayed like that for about 4 hours before starting to go back down into the fifty's then i just add more water.

Is it ok to just crinkle the paper towel into a ball and then put it into the incubator or should I lay it flat?

I would try folded first. When I’ve run out of evaporation pads before I’ve folded paper towel in half put it in the bottom of the incubator or in the water channels on my other incubator.

Hi, I put a folded paper towel into one of the channels and my humidity hasn’t changed in 40 ish mins.

I put some wet paper towels near where the eggs sat( I made sure they weren’t touching) and the humidity rose to 64%.
