Thanks, I was betting this would happen this season. My bator eggs are pipping and Nugget has started on her first broody session of her mothering career. It's actually just fine with me. The only fly in the ointment would be if another hen decides she just has to be a mama at the same time. I have nowhere else to put another broody right now.

Here she is, ensconced in her special pad for the next few weeks. Guess we can remove that saddle since she really wont need it.

Well,, maybe it's the name? I caught my Nugget sitting on the duck eggs yesterday,, of course I don't know if you call it broody when it's roo.....
