I filled just the one side...I opened the vent more and the humidity went down...I’m gonna try and tweet the that way.. trial and error is My way of lifeHumidity is determined by the surface area of the water. You have to lower the surface area. That means emptying water out of the troughs. Did you fill just one trough or both?
And!

Thanks for the info!! I’m hatching frizzle bantams...my broody hen is stealing from the other hen and can’t cover all the eggs so I decided to help her out...not sure what I’m gonna do with all these tiny babies but they sure will be cuteI have the same bator, and love it. I've hatched 2 batches of quail with it and once I got my humidity right I didnt have to mess with it except for adding a little water each morning before work and each evening after work (12 hour shifts). Find a good balance between trough A and the vent. You want good ventilation as much as good humidity. Don't forget to take out the turner on lockdown day, fill up both A and B, and lower the temp some...what are you hatching?
Poor girl lol, not big enough to cover all the eggs she wants to hatch! Yes, they will be adorable. Thanks for the info!!
