I just got the Nurture Right 360 incubator and am unable to get humidity level above 42% using the “A” reservoir as per the instructions. I noted the water surface was greater for the “B” reservoir. Emptied the bottom and tried using only the “B” reservoir. Now I’m getting too high a reading for the first 18 days. Any ideas to help me?

I do have one of those. But I don't really pay attention to the number. I run it with zero water for the first 18 days, unless my air cells look too large.

Just use the A side for now, and candle the eggs periodically and adjust as necessary.

You "can" slip a piece of thin plastic under the gray tray, between the water and the tray, to block off part of the humidity. Lessening the surface area exposed will lower the humidity a little.

What were your readings with A and with B,
42% was my highest reading using “A” and 82% with the “B” reservoir. I’m adjusting the vent now to see what the lowest I can get on “B” is. Just seems odd that the “A” side has such a small surface area.

The A side is meant to use during early incubation, when you just may need a little humidity. If you look at the tracks, the A reservoir fills just the center of the bator. Then adding B during hatching (last 3 days) increases it to the full amount.

I keep my vent fully open at all times. I actually taped it open, so I don’t accidentally slide it closed. Oxygenation and ventilation is important.

Thanks for the advice. I was just concerned that I couldn’t get the humidity percentage as high as they suggested. Read too much and worry too much, I guess.

Thanks for your reply. I feel better about things now. Hope to set first clutch next week.

Hi! So glad I found this thread - I have one of these incubators I have been trying to get set up for some hatching eggs I ordered and I have not been able to get the humidity higher than 42 with water tray A fully filled. That is with the vent only 1/3 open. Since these are shipped eggs I am planning to put them in there (big end up) and not touch them for the 1st 5 days. Do you think the best thing is to leave the vent fully open (water tray A is full) - not worry about the humidity level - and candle them on day 5? How often do you candle them to look at the air sac? Thanks!!
