Nutrisystem

I wouldn't try Nutrisystem because it's pricy, it's not very good to be dependent on a company (or whatever it's called) feeding you, and apparently the food is nasty.
I'd try Weight Watchers because it doesnt cost much at all, it works, and instead of Nutrisystem you learn how to eat right. Thats all my opinion.

Weight Watchers doesn't seem to teach me how to eat.

I gain weight every time I try it and I feel rotten the whole time.

Okay, so perhaps Nutrisystem isn't an option. Thanks for the other suggestions, y'all. I wish my doctor was more helpful with this.

Saddina- thanks for the website. It looks to be very helpful. I played on it for a while this afternoon. It works a lot like the online WW program. That part I liked!

Wifezilla has a wealth of info about diet and nutrition that you just won't find in the mainstream. Definitely give her recommendations a thought or two.

I struggled with my weight since I was 16. I am now 45. I would hate to see anyone else waste a bunch of time doing the wrong thing. Now that I know the actual science and biology involved, my health has improved tremendously.

As for weight watchers, my mom is now faced with gall bladder issues. Her doctor pinned it on her years following weight watchers.

It would be a good idea to talk to a nutritionist. Your doctor isn't helping you, and our advice will be based on what has worked for us in the past, not necessarily what will fit your needs. A nutritionist can help you identify your unique needs and set goals.

Unless you REALLY like your doctor, I'd consider switching or getting a second opinion. Or ask for a referral to a nutritionist (like Jenn said). Your doctor should be part of the solution, not an aspect of the over-all problem.

I love sparkpeople.com. I've been following it carefully for the past 3 weeks and have lost 5 pounds. I've used the tools there before to lose 20-25 pounds. And, like FrenchHen said, it's 100% free.

Even though I lost ten pounds but it is still a struggle when you have alot of the food pantry items that are HIGH in carbo. So I put a limit to it instead of having it at every darn meal.

What Jenn and Wifezilla has to say, it is worthwhile to try it. Even you might cheat a bit but at least you can get back on the band wagon from time to time again.

All those weight watchers on TV, they are a JOKE! And I have high blood pressure (going good now), all those sodium and artificial flavorings and chemical ladden stuff in there isn't going to be good for me, nor you either!

If you are diabetic they tell you they can't provide you with meal plans. If you choose the "lower carb" version plan it also does not generate a lower carb version.

The basic plan looks good, but there are too many carbs for me.

Being diabetic I was kinda disappointed with sparkpeople.com.
