NY chicken lover!!!!

I used to have Cavies and show, but got out when I started at the po. To many and to much work. I was to tired to take care of them.
You got chickens for sale or what ever? You can't wait for some people ya just gotta go with who ever shows up with the money. I had people say yeah I want them, then are no shows with no phone call or anything.
Gotta ask, if I want to sell a pair of Dels (hen hatchery and roo speckledhens) but only for pick up should I do it in the buy sell area? Or is that area only for those who are willing to ship the birds? Not sure I'd find buyer in the Syracuse area, but can't ship either. Figure someone in the state might want them bad enough to come and get them. I could just post around the state on CL I suppose.

I had Cavies last year *briefly*. The breeder told me they would be *fine* outside in the rabbitry, yeah, not so much. It was too cold and they were all sickly, the Boar malcluded and died, the Mink ate the one Sow, and the remaining Cavy died about a week later. So no more for me! I don't want them in the house, so if they can't live in the garage with the rest of the rabbits/quail, then they're out.

I'll just have some LF and Bantam Cochins for sale, but only if I end up getting the SQ ones. I'd kinda like to know so I can list them now, I don't want to sell them and then end up with nothing! And I have ducks, LOL I can tell which are girls on some of them now, some I am hoping they turn into girls!

I'd post the Dels here, then do the other thing if no one here wants them? Most of them on the listings are PU only anyways. Some of the new auction places are offering free listings, so ya might consider doing one of those? I'd ship stuff, but I've never shipped anything live before!

Are you going to have any Del Pullets? I don't really need a Roo for my project, or I'd take the pair. ;p Seems like no one needs Roos!

I sent my Buff Silkies to the auction (except for the one who decided to go broody) and wouldn't ya know it, someone wanted them the next day! I picked up four nice Quality whites from a breeder who sent some of his stock (For cheap too!) I should have picked up another white Roo... I might have to just toss mine in with them for a week, seeing as how two of the three hens in his pen are sitting on eggs anyways!

Well I do have the hatchery hens, one of which lays a pink egg. Thy're a year old. Nice but nothing I want to put in my line of Dels. I've got pullets to replace them with that should be laying soon. The roos are to important to just give away. Dels are listed on the endangered critical list in Storey's.
I expect to have a closed flock as soon as I can get rid of my unwanted hatchery girls.

Just a thought what were you feeding them? Cavies can survive the cold with the right set up. I've seen them kept in an unheated barn. You are aware that cavies need special feed unlike that of rabbits? You mentioning them being sickly made me ask.
