Well I live in the middle of nowhere so I am hoping to build up my stock to offer them to the 3 places that do sushi and some of the higher end restaurants.

Me, too

I've hatched/raised quail and honestly no-one in my family liked the tast of the eggs......including me:<( So I gave them to someone who did. IMHO they do not at all taste like chicken eggs so it might be a taste you might want to develope.

Where do you get that? I might try the one in Penn Yan, not sure if I can afford 17 bucks a bag though, I so need a job!

We eat the extra Quail eggs, but most of them I hatch (errr, try to hatch?) and sell.

HEEELLLOOO newyawkahs!

Another wayne county - er here.. a 315-er. Im close to the cayuga county line, although ive lived in ontario and seneca counties...

alas, i have been living back in wayne county for 3+ yrs, thankfully back into the RG&E zone( compared to nyseg) with no neighbors on either side of me, no one to bother the chickens!

Would like to connect with others near me and talk chicken

Thank you! if you guys dont mind, tell me the dos and donts of NY winter.. include any lake effect type info you have to share please. im heading for my first winter with chickens and and getting a little nervous!

im not sure if i have to shovel for them or if they shouldbe cooped up most of the winter. if youre in my areas you know the snow banks get higher than the roof of your car.. and drifts are a big problem around here

eck i hate snow!

Welcome to NY! The Winters are cold, but the rest of the seasons are wonderful! Not too many bugs and snakes where I live.

Speaking of which, I am in the Saratoga NY area about a half hour North of Albany...and I am looking specifically for a young BLRW Roo. I have a pretty lady that is all alone and looking for a nice lookin' country fella.
