NY chicken lover!!!!

Since I was home watching Little Girl, Hubby got me the meds. First he got me 24 hour stuff. After going to the doc yesterday, she recommended Sudafed, need the antihistamine to dry up the drip before it becomes more serious and use the stuff that doesn't last so long. Hubby brought home store brand nasal decongestant. He tried.

Found I had some 4 hour Benedryl for allergy and sinus headache. Took half dose and still had sleep problems. I'm going to give up the allergy meds, sleep is more important.

The pseudoephedrine is what's most likely keeping you up, as it's notorious for making people bounce off the walls. I recommend taking an anthistamine like plain Benadryl or chlorpheniramine (Chlor-Trimeton) at night, and reserving the PSE-containing meds for the daytime.

Henicillin (Pharm.D., R.Ph.)

Try sinus rinses. I have bad sinuses and sinus rinses clear them up with no need for OTC meds. You can buy it in a can to use or the powder to mix with distilled water. After a days or so use you should notice a big diffrence. No more nasal drip, stuffy nose, etc. I use it once in the morning & before bed.
Good luck !!

Sinus rinses are great!

Tab,

Do NOT clean before we all get there. Seriously. We are coming to see you, not your house. Get some rest. No one is going to judge you or any member of your family based on how you and the house looks. It's just not who we are. We are chicken folk. We bring chickens into the house, brood them in office space, wash their feet, butts and faces in our kitchen sinks and sometimes forget to change our shoes on the way into the house for "just a second". Put anything personal in a drawer (preferably upstairs if that is an option) and sweep the kitchen floor just before we get there (so we don't grind dirt into the flooring) and go outside and wait for us to get there. Then find a comfy chair you can give us directions to where things need to go from. That's it. That's all you have to do.

This. I've stood in my downstairs bathroom (the "good" bathroom) fixing a prolapsed, muddy hen's vent with Preparation H and honey. I have two enormous dogs, one of whom sheds a whole new dog's worth of fur every few days. I also have five cats, hordes of birds, and an auto body repairman as a husband. No judging from this corner!
