You are pretty far from me though. Maybe you will find someone that is closer to you. I didn't know there where that many people right around by me until this thread started lol.

While on a river tour we passed a bridge that went into Canada, it was by the statue of St. Lawrence. I think up by you. My some-day in-laws live up by Watertown (Henderson actually) Will

I went to college at SUNY Potsdam and worked summers as a grounds keeper/house sitter for one of the private islands, right by Clayton. I also got in a car accident (I wasn't driving) right outside of the Burger King in Ogdensburg. Small world you know.

I also went to SUNY Potsdam (have the hoodie on right now hehe). Maybe some of you could come up for the Northern NY Poultry Fanciers swap/meet this year. At the very least I'd like to go to the Syracuse fair to check out the chickens this year.

Keep us posted when that is.

Does anybody know if there is a Western NY Poultry fanciers group? I'ld love to go and pick their brains. We're planning on going to the swap in Bath in May. Never been; could be fun.

omani-- you better go in May! Be prepared it's all day event and real KUNTRY if ya' know what I mean, but that's my kind of fun! I'm going to Earls friday for some chicken n biscuits and sky high pie (coconut) then over to pickup some feed YAY!

My TOM turkey almost attacked me this a.m...... I woke up 2 hours late for work (I'm a nurse, big no no!) then one of my dogs ran off before I left for work (an hour away in rochester) then the chicken's and guineas were freaking out before I finally left for work....so stupid me I went to the coop to investigate and apparently TOM does not like hot pink hospital scrub pants cause he was giving me the evil eye and fluffing up really big.... I was thinking " OH no, if I get attacked by my turkey and am even later to work....I am never gonna hear the end of it!" But I made a mad dash for my car and finally made it to the city.....

Ogdensburg--- my DH and I make the trip up there every year to walmart, etc when we stay at Kring Pt. State Park....prettier drive then going back down to water town... you live in an awesome area but again.... THE WINTERS UGH!

Night all, gotta go back to work in the a.m. still debating whether or not to order chicks this year.....SIGH.....

I too am debating... would like to have a few more standard hens of assorted breeds (silver wyandotte, orp, another chantecler? maybe a favorelle.... ah I digress too many to choose...) But then eggs means roos, I do NOT need more roos, which means chicks and I do NOT need 20 packing peanuts (which also means roos) like last year. Unfortunately an order from Ideal or another hatchery means too many chicks. I feel so torn! What's a girl to do? The local TSC's only ever have red sex links...

But let me throw out there that if someone is willing to order with me I am willing to drive up to 4 hours to meet them!! Hey HappyHens.... I'm from Delmar so a trip to Albany to split an order wouldn't be so bad hint hint!!! I also will have barred rock/Ameraucana hatching eggs and Partridge chantecler/ Ameraucana hatching eggs. Oh and pure mille fleur booted bantam eggs. Or maybe meet a finger lakes member by Syracuse? Just a thought
