TOB

I didn't even know chickens could get worms until recently. I've been putting ACV in their water once a week for a few weeks now just to try to prevent them. My hens even starting laying more after, coincidence? Maybe, it is that time of year but I will keep using it anyway. I didn't use the kind with mother in it. I read that it works better but without works too.

There are all kinds of designs. Some very nice and imaginative. Lots of recycled things turned into coops. Read one article years ago where a guy in NYC turned a dresser that he got of the street into a coop for three hens.

I do like to hit up HD for culled lumber. Found a nice crate on CL once too. As long as you can secure it from predators there are lots of things.

I wish you well,

Mderby--my concolences.

Rancher--that was just your way of weaseling out of cooking. Always a man with a plan!

Stony---cant say as I have ever had those.

My conscience bothered me so I deleted it. The getting drunk part. It was a joke. I am Irish but I don't drink. Alcoholism is so prevalent in our family it's written on our birth certificates. I can't walk into a bar, that it isn't like walking into a family reunion.

yes TOB. Mothers is needed. Although I know people who use the stuff without mothers and seem to do ok. Buried somewhere in this thread is a "recipe" for making your own AVC with mothers.

Rancher, I don't drink either. Not in a long time. Drinking killed most, heck all of the men on my bio fathers side of the family. But funny is funny

We do what Stony does. We have had chickens for a
few years but we had Call Ducks for 15 years.

They need food water and all that Stony says
and they are fine with us. I will say Chickens are much
easier for us. DUCKS are too MESSY.

Welcome to the forum I am in Hamburg just north of you. I have had good luck finding wood to use on big trash days to help build my coops.

Yes, duckehs love the water. it really isn't their fault. Just quite messy, like a two-year-old and a toilet.

The duckehs are laying again. Their egg fans will be thrilled!

Yeah! Hoping I will have eggs by the end of summer from our Khakis.
