a Sumatra hen and her fresh kill. A small frog or toad. She was quite popular for a few minutes . EVERYONE wanted that fresh killed meat! I can't tell you how much vegetarian chicken fod makes me laugh! Chickens LOVE meat!

I found a mouse living under the pallet that held their pumpkins for winter. I pointed it out to my girls but only 2 chased it but gave up after it hid in the ground. I kept exposing it but they had no desire for it. But worms and grubs?? Now those they LOVE.........I am waiting to see what they think of the gardner snake when it comes out of hibernation.

Recently a friend of mine gave me her household leftovers for the flock, including a bunch of steak cut into 6" strips. It was HYSTERICAL watching them play keep-a-way. There was plenty for all, so the fun lasted awhile! Steak strips flapping in the breeze as they ran.

I've also witnessed the snake chase. Just as entertaining! I've seen the boys with dead mice but never the girls so far.......

Welcome! Do you want certian breeds or just mutts? I'm not too far from you, in Marathon, Cortland County. I have two Gold Laced Wyandotte boys in with 2 EE, 1 blue Orp, 1 black Orp, 2 red sex link, 1 GLW, 1 black Australorp, and 4 Anconas. And I will be getting chicks from Tab sometime, we could coordinate transport of eggs too. They have some nice projects and breeds.

I thought about going ..but had never heard anything else but Blue on Black from them ..I wish now I had investigated it more ..
Would have been a cool concert ..Ive been listing to the Utube mix last night & today .
He seems to play with different artists ..Is Noah Hunt a part of the band ?

he has his own band, The Kenny Wayne Shepherd band and he also tours and records with many other artists and yearly is the star of the Hendrix tour that goes around. Noah is his lead singer. He has had the same keyboard player since he started. Some of the other band members have changed. His 1st album had a different singer. We saw him a few years ago in a tiny venue in Albany. Fantastic show. He had a bad cold and put on one heck of a performance.
The you tube mix makes it hard for someone new to KWS to figure out what is his band and what isn't. The only disc I don't have YET are the one he just recorded with Steven Stills and the new one they either just released or are working on. I forget at this point.
Steven Stills commented to Guitar player magazine that playing and recording the KWS was like having Hendrix and SRV blended together into one person. THAT is quite the compliment.

Update on hatch. As for dry hatching POO! This is not a good hatch at all. The EE's usually do much much much better. So far 1/10 that is NOT good. The Dels 4/8 with one nearly out. The CR's 3/5. one that I thought was an orp is a CR. The marans,

0/8. One was working and out of frustration I took it out and cracked the shell all the way around. I do know these guys have the hardest shell of all the chickens. That is without added calcium. so the count is 1 EE, 3 CR's, and 5 Dels. This is day 21 though so being that they were set late in the day there may still be hope.
